Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy

People who are living with diabetes and elevated blood sugar levels can over time develop permanent damage to the nerves in their feet. This nerve damage can cause diabetic nerve pain such as; Shooting, Burning, Pins and needles and Numbness.

 

Study detail and compensation

  • Participants will complete seven clinic visits and two telephone calls in a six-month period
  • Study-related visits, test and equipment are provided to volunteers at no charge
  • Tests and procedures may include:
    • Blood pressure measurements
    • Height, weight and pulse
    • Laboratory blood draws and analysis
    • Urine sample and analysi
    • EKGs
  • Compensation for participant time is provided at the end of each completed visit.

 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes
  • Pain lower extremity for at least six months
  • 22 - 80 years of age
  • HbA1c of less than 10.1
  • Can access an internet browser or smart phone
  • On stable diabetic treatment
  • Willing and able to give consent
